City Manager Joins Tourism Council To Add GG Value To "The OC"

August 25, 2009

octc.jpg“Today’s reality is that tourists want the kind of high-quality hotels, restaurants, and destinations ‘The OC’ is known for, but without ‘The OC’ price tag. That’s where Garden Grove’s central location, top-notch accommodations, and affordability provides the best market value,” says Garden Grove City Manager Matt Fertal.

Fertal recently joined the OC Tourism Council (OCTC) to boost Garden Grove’s presence in the new “The OC/Forever Summer” regional marketing campaign. The OCTC’s goal is to market and brand The OC as a premier travel destination, touting popular OC attractions such as theme parks, beaches, shopping, and entertainment.

“In Garden Grove you’ll find some of the biggest and best brands in hotels and restaurants comparable to beach and theme-park cities, but at more reasonable prices. The city’s prime location—one mile from Disneyland—its family-friendly atmosphere, and local and upcoming tourist attractions make it a must-stay and must-see for tourists,” said Fertal.

Fertal joins other officers representing OC cities, chambers of commerce, and businesses, including City of Orange, South Coast Plaza, Disneyland Resort, and Knott’s Berry Farm.
