The City of Garden Grove will be taking its “International West” resort Master Plan concept on the road to the City of Orlando for the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions trade show from November 12-16, 2007. The International West exhibit will be on display at the Orlando Convention Center.
The concept for International West was developed to provide potential developers with a vision of a new 520-acre resort and entertainment destination located along Harbor Boulevard, running from the Disney Resort District south past the 22 Garden Grove Freeway.
The master plan envisions a mix of entertainment, dining, shopping, and overnight accommodations. The upscale urban retail district will be set in a festive, high-energy environment designed for all ages to enjoy, and based in Southern California’s largest entertainment, sports, and tourist zone.
Project highlights include:
- Hotels and meeting space;
- An exciting mix of restaurants and smaller food venues;
- Themed family attractions and shopping;
- Night clubs;
- Up to two theme park;
All of these potential additions will be within two miles of the world-famous Disney Resort District and Anaheim Convention Center.
The City of Garden Grove is now actively seeking developers and users interested in pursuing development opportunities within the International West District. The City’s Economic Development Department is very aggressive and has offered a variety of economic incentives to make projects economically viable.
